Frequently Asked Questions

  • How will this help me and why should I care?
There are lots of Electric Cars on the road now and that number is increasing FAST. Those drivers need somewhere to plug in and charge up.
Electric Car drivers quickly learn where the good charging sites are and make a habit out of visiting those locations regularly.
If your business can provide products to those drivers whilst they’re plugged in (40 minutes to 2 hours) – then it should lead to increased sales for you.
  • I don’t like Electric Cars. They’re rubbish.
Electric Car drivers like Electric Cars, and they need somewhere to plug in. So why not your place?
While EV drivers are charging up, they can visit your business.
  • Are there many electric cars on the road?
Oh yes. Very very many. Here are some quick stats:
    – As of August 2020, there are over 140,000 “pure electric” cars, and over 330,000 “plug-in hybrid” cars.
    – In 2020, 10% of all new cars were plug-in, this is estimated to be 50% within 6-7 years
    – By 2030, Diesel & Petrol cars won’t be on-sale any more and upto 65% of cars will be Electric. (in fact, we did an article on this!)
  • How fast do your chargers change?
We usually fit one of the following two chargers:

The big one! (22kW) – you’ll need 3-phase electricity to handle these. But in an hour you’ll put 90 miles on an electric car. Great for restaurants, countryside pubs, theatres or anywhere you’ll be for about an hour.

The little one (7kW) – most businesses can handle these, and in an hour that’ll put about 30 miles on an electric car. So if you’re the sort of business that will have customers present for 2 hours or more, these will do the job nicely!
  • How many parking spaces will I need to allocate?
We usually install dual-chargers. Which is a single unit consisting of two sockets. These units are fitted where two parking spaces can access them.
We usually start by asking you to make two parking bays accessible. If things get popular, then we’ll recommend fitting more chargers!
